CO-PRESIDENTS

Daniella Guerrero | BIO ’21

2020-21 co-President; Shift Leader

Email: 12dannyguerrero@gmail.com

Hi! I’m Daniella Guerrero and the 2020-2021 UH PDI Co-President. I am a Junior, majoring in Biology with a minor in French. I first joined PDI because it called out to my passion for advocating for the community within the health industry and I have only been finding more ways to help the community since I joined. It has really shown me the importance of giving people a voice and understanding other social determinants of health that can impact them. When I’m not with the PDI group, I enjoy teaching spin classes, cracking a few too many jokes, and dancing salsa.

Vashti Singh | BIOC ’21

2020-21 co-President; Shift Leader

Email: vashtis0217@gmail.com

Hello! My name is Vashti Singh and I am one of the Co-Presidents of UH-PDI! (: I am majoring in Biochemistry with minors in Chemistry and Medicine & Society. I was inspired by PDI’s mission statement to join the organization and fulfill my responsibilities as a member of the community to help underserved patients navigate the complexity of our health care system and become aware of resources they may have access to. Most of all, I enjoy being able to make an impact on a patient’s time in the hospital by engaging with them on a personal level to provide them with another person they can talk to during what is an extremely difficult time.

My name is Hana Mohamad, and I am one of the board members for UH PDI. I am on track to receiving a bachelor of science in Psychology, with minors in both Medicine and Society, and Biology. I joined PDI in August of 2019, with the intention of learning more about the underserved communities and increasing their access to various resources. I very quickly learned and appreciated how the mission of PDI aligned extremely well with my own goals and gave me a way of reaching these populations within the Houston area.

Shift Leader

Hi All! My name is Oluwashina Ojo and I am a member of the UH-PDI board. I am a current senior with a major in Psychology and a minor in Biology and Medicine and Society. I joined BCM-PDI in Fall of 2019 because the mission statement of the organization resonated with me. It aligns with what kind of physician I’d like to be as it addresses health disparities and attempts to bridge the gap between patients and physicians! PDI has done an amazing job at presenting me with the opportunities to have patient contact within the walls of Bent Taub.
