[:de]New volunteer applications are now open! Baylor College of Medicine-Patient Discharge Initiative (BCM-PDI) is searching for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers. As a member, you will interact with discharged Emergency Center patients of Ben Taub Hospital in the TMC on a one-on-one basis. You will be assessing their post-care needs, providing necessary social resources, and encouraging medication adherence and follow-up attendance. Once training sessions have been completed, each volunteer will assist patients for 2.5 hours per week under the guidance of one of our shift leaders.
PDI is extremely useful for anyone interested in on-the-ground hospital work, health policy, or just plain good-will volunteering. It is also a great way to get significant clinical experience. If you have applied in the past, feel free to apply again!
